VTC fleets in Valladolid: Campo Grande, Villanubla, Barajas and the Ribera, how the cars are spread between the capital and the districts, and how the fleet is paid
Valladolid is a hub-and-spoke province: the capital and its suburbs hold Campo Grande station, the Río Hortega and Clínico hospitals, the trade fair and the industrial estates, and the districts reach them by car. For a partner fleet that means concentrating the cars in the capital and deciding, from the portal, whether one in Medina del Campo, next to the A-6 and with its own high-speed station, and another in the Ribera at harvest time are worth it. Each booked job enters the fleet's portal with its amount, is assigned to a driver and the customer pays by card: the money reaches the fleet's Stripe Connect account with the commission published on the fleets page already separated. Valladolid to Barajas is 207 km; Laguna de Duero to Campo Grande, 7 km.

Where should a fleet keep its cars in the province of Valladolid?
Almost all of them in the capital: Valladolid and its suburbs, with Laguna de Duero, Arroyo de la Encomienda, Simancas, Cigales and Tudela de Duero, form a single urban area split by the Pisuerga that holds Campo Grande station, right in the centre and the head of the high-speed line to Madrid-Chamartín, the Río Hortega and Clínico hospitals, the Feria de Valladolid and the industrial estates of the car industry and its suppliers. A car that starts the day in the suburbs chains short station connections first thing, appointments with a wait mid-morning and a departure to Barajas in the afternoon with no empty kilometres between one and the next.
Outside the capital there are two places that may justify a second car, and the portal is what says whether they do. Medina del Campo, next to the A-6 and with its own high-speed station on the Zamora and Galicia line, shares out the connections of the south of the province and shortens the run to Madrid and Barajas. Peñafiel and the Ribera del Duero generate winery runs with a wait, above all at harvest time, when nobody wants to drive back. Tordesillas, where the A-6 and A-62 cross, is the way through for everything heading to Salamanca, Zamora or Madrid, but its residents go up to the capital for the hospital and the train: a car there lives off the road, not off the town.
Which corridors reach the fleet's portal, and with what figures?
The figures are the route engine's, the same ones the customer sees before booking and on which the commission is calculated. The Campo Grande connections are short and early, because the village bus does not meet the first train: Laguna de Duero to the station, 7 km from 18,00 €. The hospitals are jobs with a booked wait and return, concentrated in the morning: Medina del Campo to Río Hortega, 56 km. Villanubla, by the León road, with few routes and several seasonal ones, gives short and scarce jobs: Valladolid to the airport, 14 km; it pays to check the flight before positioning a car.
The province's long job is Barajas, along the A-62 or the A-6 and over the Guadarrama range, with the AP-6 tunnel as the usual crossing when there is snow on the Alto del León: Valladolid to Barajas, 207 km and about 165 min, from 261,98 €; Medina del Campo to Barajas, 175 km. These are jobs that take a car for half a day and are booked in advance, which lets you position it the night before. What nobody publishes is how many there will be in a week: demand has hours and months, with peaks in Holy Week, during the Seminci film festival in October, at the trade fairs in the exhibition centre and during the Ribera harvest.
How does a job enter the portal, and how is it assigned among the cars?
The customer books on the website or in the app at a fixed price, and the job enters the zone's queue with the time, the route and the amount the fleet will be paid. In the portal, with its own credentials, the manager accepts it and assigns it to one of the drivers, or leaves it for the first free one of their own to take; each driver signs in to the app with their own access and sees only their own jobs, with navigation, trip states and the road sheet issued from the phone before setting off. A pickup at Campo Grande or at Barajas carries the train or flight number and the app follows delays.
Three rules are not negotiable. The fixed price agreed with the customer is what is charged, with no on-board or festival surcharges, including in Holy Week, when the processions close the centre and the pickup is set where the town hall allows. The time paid for is the pickup time, with the courtesy wait the platform publishes. And no car solicits at the station taxi rank or in arrivals at Villanubla: the service is pre-booked, with the fields for the Ministry of Transport's register taken from the road sheet. If the driver who accepted a job cannot do it in the end, the customer's price does not move: the difference comes out of the platform's commission, not the fleet's.
How is the fleet paid: card at booking, Stripe Connect, fortnightly statement and commission invoice?
Into its own bank account, not the platform's. The customer pays by card when booking, on board, or by bank transfer if it is a company on monthly invoicing, and the amount lands in the fleet's Stripe Connect account with the commission and its VAT separated in the same charge; from there it goes to the fleet's bank on the schedule the fleet itself sets in Stripe. The commission is the one published on the fleets page when read, with two paths the fleet chooses and switches from its portal: the house fare, with the lower commission, or its own declared fare, with the published commission. No figure that might change is written here.
Every fortnight the period closes and the fleet receives its statement with every job, the amount of each, the commission withheld and the net, together with the platform's commission invoice, numbered and with its VAT, which the accountant books as a deductible expense. There is no joining fee, no monthly charge and no minimum: a month with no jobs costs nothing. Tips belong to the driver and carry no commission. Non-payment is not the fleet's risk: if the customer does not show or the card fails, the job performed is settled all the same, and late cancellations are paid under the policy published on the help page. All of it is visible in the portal, with the status of each payment, the statements and the invoices.
What is bidding for uncovered jobs, and what does the fleet-management software do?
Bidding is an option, not an obligation. When a job is left without a driver in a zone, for instance a winery return in Peñafiel on a harvest Saturday, the fleet can leave its own pricing rule in the portal, with base, target and floor per concept, standing or by days and hours, and fine-tune it per driver within the published limits; while its drivers are online in the app, the customer sees them as one more option at that fixed price and chooses the car that arrives soonest, the cheapest or the balance. Whatever is awarded is paid with the usual commission. Without a rule, the fleet works on the house fare or its own, and nobody promises open jobs every week in Tordesillas.
The fleet-management software is the part a Valladolid fleet usually keeps in a spreadsheet: the expiry dates for each car and each driver (roadworthiness test, passenger insurance, authorisation, environmental label, licence); the expenses per vehicle, with fuel, maintenance, AP-6 tolls and Barajas parking; the kilometres, the income from every platform the fleet works with and the split with each driver according to their agreement. It warns before anything expires and produces the month's result per car, which is the figure that says whether the second car in Medina pays off. It is included for partner fleets; without working with the platform it is subscribed to on its own, by the month. The platform as a tool with no commission, for a fee per licence per month, has its own page and is not on sale yet.
Frequently asked questions
Is the fleet paid into its own account or the platform's?
Its own, through Stripe Connect: the customer pays by card and the amount lands in the fleet's account with the commission and its VAT separated in the same charge. Every fortnight the statement arrives with every job and the commission invoice, numbered and with VAT.
What paperwork does joining ask of a Valladolid fleet?
A valid VTC authorisation in the company's name, the vehicles registered under it with a current roadworthiness test, passenger insurance and environmental label, the drivers with their licences, the certificate of good standing with the tax and social security authorities and a company bank account for Stripe Connect. The application is sent from the fleets page with the company name, tax ID, licences and area.
Can a fleet car wait at the Campo Grande taxi rank or in arrivals at Villanubla?
No. The pickup is always a customer with a booking and their train or flight on the job; waiting at the rank or soliciting on the platform or in arrivals is prohibited for a VTC, and a fleet that does so loses priority in assignment.
How much is Valladolid to Barajas, the typical long job?
207 km along the A-6 and over the mountains, from 261,98 € according to the route engine; it is the price the customer sees and on which the published commission is calculated. The return without a customer is what weighs most on this corridor, unless a round trip is booked.
Is a car in Medina del Campo worth it as well as those in the capital?
Nobody can say in advance: it depends on the jobs arriving from the south of the province, which the portal shows. The fleet software produces the result per car and month, and that is the figure to decide with, not a promise of volume.

How we write, where the figures come from and how we correct an error: editorial policy.
The published commission, its two paths, the courtesy wait, the settlement calendar and the cancellation policy are those published on the fleets page and in the portal when opened, not those of this guide. Kilometre, minute and price figures are the route engine's in daytime conditions without incidents; none of this promises a volume of jobs or any income.
