- From Valladolid the route joins the A-6, either via the A-62 to Tordesillas or south towards Adanero, and crosses the mountains through the AP-6 toll tunnel or over the Alto del León pass. Another option runs through Cuéllar and Segovia. For Barajas, the A-6 leads on to the M-40 or M-50 before reaching the city.

- Medina del Campo sits next to the A-6, so the way to Madrid is straightforward: via Arévalo and Villacastín to the mountains, then the AP-6 toll tunnel or the free road over the pass. Barajas is reached from the A-6 by joining the M-40 or M-50.
- Tordesillas y el cruce del Duero
- Tordesillas has the A-6 on its doorstep: the route runs south via Medina del Campo and Arévalo and crosses the Guadarrama through the toll tunnel or over the Alto del León. For Barajas, the M-40 or M-50 is taken on reaching Madrid, depending on traffic.
- Tierra de Pinares
- From Olmedo the route heads south to the A-6, towards Arévalo and Adanero, and continues to Madrid on the AP-6 or the road over the pass. Barajas is on the far side of the capital, via the M-40 or M-50.
- Tierra de Campos
- From Medina de Rioseco the route goes down the N-601 to Valladolid and on to the A-6, or joins the A-6 directly towards Tordesillas. Crossing the mountains, through the AP-6 tunnel or over the Alto del León, is the stretch most affected by winter weather.
- Ribera del Duero vallisoletana
- There are two ways from Peñafiel to Madrid: east to Aranda de Duero and then the A-1 over Somosierra, or south via Cuéllar and Segovia. For Barajas, the A-1 enters Madrid from the north and leaves the airport close at hand via the M-40.
